Villajoyosa, 1 de junio de 2009. El próximo viernes 5 de junio el chef del Hotel Montíboli, Jean Marc Sanz, presidirá el jurado del popular XVII Concurso de Pebrereta de Villajoyosa.
El concurso está organizado por el Ayuntamiento de Villajoyosa y forma parte de las actividades de La Vila Gastronómica para promocionar la gastronomía local, elaborando uno de los platos vileros más típicos.
El acto tendrá lugar a las 20.00 horas en la Plaça de la Llum, en el barrio de Poble Nou de la localidad y reunirá a 37 equipos de dos personas de cocineros aficionados, que elaborarán este plato típico, realizado a base de pimiento verde, tomate, calabaza y sangacho (una parte del atún que se conserva en salazón y se desala para cocinarlo). Los participantes aportarán solamente el recipiente y el gas para cocinar el plato, y el Ayuntamiento les proporcionará todos los
ingredientes.
El jurado de este año estará presidido por el chef del Hotel Montíboli, Jean Marc Sanz, y contará entre sus miembros con el presidente del Club Náutico, Jaime Llinares, el presidente del Villajoyosa Club de Fútbol, Domingo Lloret, la presidenta de la Asociación contra el Cáncer de La Vila, Maruja Agulló, Juan Llinares vecino de Poble Nou muy vinculado a las fiestas del barrio, el periodista de Canal 9, Francisco Morrió y el concejal José María Béjar. La pebrereta para la degustación la cocinará Vicenta Climent, Vicenta el Moro, a quien se rindió homenaje en la Mostra de Cuina Marinera, con motivo de su jubilación”
El concurso tendrá tres premios: el primero consistirá en un fin de semana para dos personas en Mojácar en un hotel de la cadena Servigroup, proporcionado por el Hotel Montíboli; el segundo, una vale de 150 euros de la Asociación Vilera de Empresarios (AVEA) y el tercero, un vale de 90 euros para el mercado de abastos de la localidad.
La inscripción en el
concurso hay que realizarla en la Oficina de Turismo del Pais Valencià, número 10, y el precio es de 15 euros. El concurso durará aproximadamente cinco horas, y contará con cobertura por parte de la televisión Canal 9, que se desplazará hasta La Vila para realizar un reportaje sobre el evento.

Villajoyosa, 1st June 2009. Next Friday, 5th June, Hotel Montíboli’s Chef, Jean Marc Sanz, will preside the jury of the popular XVII Pebrereta Competition of Villajoyosa.
The competition is organised by Villajoyosa’s town hall and forms part of Villajoyosa’s gastronomic activities to promote the local gastronomy, elaborating typical dishes from its town.
The event will take place at 20.00 hours in the “Llum” town square, of the “Poble Nou” neighbourhood of this town and that will congregate 37 teams, including 2 amateur cooks in each one, that will elaborate this typical dish made of green pepper, tomato,
squash and Sangacho (a part of the tuna fish that is conserved in salt and is desalted when used to cook with). The participants will only provide the container and gas to cook the dish with and the town hall will provide all of the ingredients.
This year’s jury will be presided by Hotel Montíboli’s Chef, Jean Marc Sanz, and the president of the Nautical Club, Jaime Llinares, the President of Villajoyosa’s Football Club, Domingo Lloret, the president of Villayosa’s Cancer Society, Maruja Agulló, a resident of the “Poble Nou” neighbourghood assotiated with the neighbourhood’s fiestas, Juan Llinares, a journalist from Canal 9, Francisco Morrió, and a town councillor, José María Béjar. The Pebrereta that will be sampled will be cooked by Vicenta Climent, Vicenta el Moro, whom was praised during last year’s edition of the “Mostra de Cuina Marinera” in commemoration of her retirement.
The competition will have three prizes: the first prize will consist in a weekend for 2 people in Mojácar at one
of Servigroup’s hotels, offered by the Hotel Montíboli; the second prize will be 150 euro voucher from the Association of Entrepreneurs in Villajoyosa (AVEA) and the third prize will be a 90 euros voucher for the supply market of this town.
The registration for the competition must be done at the Tourism Office of the Pais Valencià Ave., number 10, and the price is 15 euros. The competition will last approximately five hours and will be covered by Canal 9’s TV station that will travel to Villajollosa to undertake the coverage of this event.
